Supernal Beauty
Supernal Beauty is an ongoing body of work rooted in the visual language of the Sandé tradition of Sierra Leone. Through sculptural paintings, fiber-based works, and material assemblage, the series explores beauty as a form of knowledge, encoded through gesture, adornment, and ritual. Drawing from ancestral forms while remaining firmly contemporary, the work considers how cultural memory is carried, protected, and reimagined across time.

Textiles function as a connective material language across the practice, carrying pattern, rhythm, and cultural memory through fiber. These works extend the studio’s visual worlds into wearable and domestic forms, maintaining the same restraints, material intelligence, and quiet authority as the sculptural and painted work.
